Green Apple Spinach Salad
SALAD INGREDIENTS:
- 9 oz pkg baby spinach
- 2 med tart green apples, chopped (Granny Smith)
- 1/4 cup golden raisins
DRESSING INGREDIENTS:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup vegie oil
- 1/4 teas garlic salt
- 1/4 teas celery salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Mix salad ingredients in large bowl. Mix together dressing ingredients until thoroughly blended and pour over salad. Toss. Do not put salad dressing on too early or it will get soggy.
This salad is THE perfect summer salad, easy to make, refreshing and light. Everyone that has tried it has raved about it. It’s a 10!
Tomato and Cheese Herb Salad
INGREDIENTS:
4 large vine tomatoes
1 pound of Brick cheese
Fresh Basil
Garlic Powder
Salt and Pepper
Rosemary
PREPARATION:
Rinse and dice all of the tomatoes and set aside in a bowl
Dice all of the Brick cheese and add to tomatoes
Shred fresh basil and add to the salad as well as the rest of your herb seasonings
Mix the salad in a bowl and let chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour, covered.
Serves 8 people.
The Wedge Salad
The Wedge Salad is one of my favorites when I’m taking a break from my diet. Easy to make and a great starter salad to a steak dinner.
INGREDIENTS:
1 head of fresh lettuce
Blue cheese dressing
3 strips of bacon
Salt and Pepper
PREPARATION:
Fry and drain the bacon slices. Cool, crumble and set aside.
Slice and separate the head of lettuce into 4 diferent wedges placing each on separate serving plates
Drizzle each wedge with the blue cheese dressing
Sprinkle crumbled bacon sparingly on top of each wedge
Dash all with salt and pepper for flavoring
Serve immediately. Serves 4 people.
